American Red Cross Massachusetts

Dorchester, Boston MA

  • Deliver Be Red Cross Ready preparedness workshops for families, seniors, and immigrant communities, focusing on fire safety, extreme weather, and household emergency planning
  • Coordinate with local partners to organize outreach events in Dorchester and surrounding neighborhoods, adapting materials to meet the needs of diverse audiences
  • Support public education initiatives by managing registrations, answering preparedness questions, and encouraging residents to create and maintain their own emergency kits

  • Provide weekly one-on-one math mentoring to 5th-grade students, breaking down concepts into approachable steps and connecting them to real-life examples

  • Lead five classroom sessions for 20 second-grade students on community roles, money, and civic engagement through stories and hands-on activities.
  • Encourage participation from quieter students and helped them relate abstract economic ideas to familiar people and places in their own community.
